The Year of the Fire Horse
I will suggest ways you can work with the Fire Horse throughout the year and post them on this page.

Farewell, Wood Snake - Welcome, Fire Horse!
The first two practices on this page can be done together or separately

Thank you and farewell, Wood Snake
The Wood Snake is like a sweet river of the shadow parts - the parts of ourselves we typically don't see. As we bid farewell to the Wood Snake, we thank her for showing us the shadow things so we can shed fear and grow into the next iteration of our life and self.

This practice will help you to send the Wood Snake off with love and gratitude for the lessons it showed you.

Items you will need to complete this practice:
Candle
Image of a snake
Piece of paper and/or a journal
Fireproof bowl to safely burn paper

Reflect with Gratitude
-
Place your snake image in front of you and light your candle.
-
Close your eyes and imagine the snake moving through you, bringing you back to the beginning of 2025.
-
Reflect on the year by thinking about the things you’ve learned and things you’ve shed.
-
On a piece of paper (or in your journal), write one or more things you struggled with but overcame during the year of the Wood Snake.
-
Take a moment to thank the snake for teaching you how to shed pain and be reborn.
-
Light your paper of lessons on fire and place it in your bowl.
-
Move your snake picture to the side. As you move your picture, visualize the snake taking the old parts of you that no longer exist away with it.
Sometimes learning is painful. It can feel like we've shed our entire personality and are reborn after we learn!
Welcome, Fire Horse!

The horse represents the mind. Without focus and direction the mind wanders. In this practice, we link mind and intention so that the mind can move in the direction we specify.

This practice will help you to welcome the Fire Horse to help you bring your awakenings to life through grounded action.

Welcome Practice
Place your horse image in front of you and light your candle.
-
Close your eyes and reflect on what you shed with the Wood Snake and what you would like to explore this year.
- On a piece of paper (or in your journal), write one or more things you would like to explore or expand in this new year.
-
Touch the paper to your third eye chakra (middle forehead). While you hold the paper at your third eye chakra, visualize yourself doing the things you have written down.
-
Place the paper to your heart and imagine how you’ll feel doing them.
-
Show the paper to the horse and invite him to carry you forward in achieving these tasks.
-
Light the paper on fire and place it in the bowl. As you do so, thank the horse for his light, speed, and enthusiasm.
-
Keep your picture of the Fire Horse in a place you’ll see it often. I put it on my phone wallpaper. You can keep it on your fridge, mirror or altar if you have one. When you see this imagine, allow yourself to remember the intentions you made with it.
